3D Art
This is a selection of 3D models that I have created either in the course of projects or on my own.
More models can be found on my Sketchfab profile.
VRex - Virtual Paleontology (2022)
For the VR final project during my studies, I mainly worked as a technical artist to create the 3D models that players can interact with, especially the various bones of the Tyrannosaurus Rex that can be excavated, prepared and exhibited. But the excavation site with its different rock layers and the interior of the museum also fell into my field of responsibility.
The 3D model of the complete Tyrannosaurus is based on an existing model from Sketchfab, which I textured and modified to meet the requirements of the project. In addition, it was equipped with a metal framework to which the bones can be attached in the showroom.
Mars Mission (2021)
During my internship at Einfach Genial gGmbH, I mainly worked on the serious game "Mars Mission" and created various 3D models for it. This included sci-fi buildings for the explorable Mars city, such as for the clinic or the Rossmann drugstore, and objects that were used in the various scenes, for example Rossmann products for the shelves or a rolling cart that is used to restock them. At the company's request, this was modeled after the rolling carts that are actually used in Rossmann stores.
My 3D models were also used in the VR porting of two of the businesses (Rossmann and Kind) that I did together with a former fellow student. In the video, you can see the "holo bracelet" that functions as the user interface in virtual reality. This was not only modeled by me, but I also designed the functionality of the actual interface.
University Recipes (2021)
In this VR group project, I was the lead 3D artist and responsible for various areas, from environment and level design to technical art (cutting up ingredients) as well as designing various objects that can be interacted with.
Other Models
A selection of different 3D models, most of which were created by me as independent works. I was inspired by various fields of interest such as history, architecture, literature and film.
The Great Temple of Ilaisias
By far my most complex model, which I have been working on off and on for over 15 years. It's supposed to be a temple of the God of Light from a fantasy world I created myself, but I'm not actively working on it anymore. The first version was created in 2008 with Sketchup, the interior was added in 2010 and in 2013 I transferred the model to Unity3D for the first time. Since then I've made improvements every now and then and ported it completely to Blender. The latest addition constitutes the statue in the interior, which I recreated from scratch and completed in March 2023. For this I used MakeHuman, Blender and Substance Painter.
